As of the 2010 census, the county population was 1,891. Its county seat and most populous city is Coldwater. The county is named after the Comanche Native Americans. New Option for Proper Flag Disposal of Worn U.S. Flags

In partnership with the National Association of Counties, Comanche County has installed a flag retirement box, at no cost to the county, at the Comanche County Courthouse on the first floor. Flags should be folded respectfully before being placed in the box. If your flag is too big for the box please bring it to the County Clerk's Office.
The United States Flag Code prescribes flag etiquette - everything from flying it near other flags to instructions on how to raise and lower it. "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning,: says the code.

Bids for Bailing Airport Ground Comanche County is now accepting bids to swath and bail the grass around the county airport. Grass can be bailed up to the runway, but the bails need to be moved and located at least 350ft away from the edge of the runway. Bids will close at 5pm on Monday July 20, 2026.
