Comanche County is seeking to fill the position of Communications Director. The Communications Director supervises and manages the operations of the Comanche County Emergency Communications Center.
5 years of progressively responsible experience in emergency communications and 2 years of supervisory experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job; Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license; Must be free of any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions; Must possess and maintain, or attain within six months, certifications for NCIC, Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), and EPR.
Pay range $17-$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Paid dental and health insurance, paid vacation, sick, and personal time and KPERS retirement benefits.

This position is a supervisory position in which more than ten years of public works planning, designing, maintenance, supervisory experience, budgeting, good public relation skills, and repair experience is preferred, and at least five years of previous management experience is required. This position supervises the Road & Bridge Department. A high school diploma or GED is required as is a valid Kansas Class A CDL driver’s license. Successful applicant must be able to pass a physical, background investigation, drug screening, and meet the physical requirements of the job.
Salary negotiable depending on qualifications, with excellent benefits.
